Graham's tip of the day

Engaging readers: No matter how dull or banal the subject, there is nearly always a human interest angle to be found in any story. Make your article stand out by talking to real people about how they are affected by the issues.

First Years and Video Blogging

E-mail Print PDF

Andrew on year one (combined hons journalism and politics) has been adding video to his blog (follow the link to his blog and then scroll down). Everyone should do that. The TAB9 newsroom is not in use this term on most Wednesday mornings and there's lights and autocue in there so you should be able to capture to tape and then digitise that tape.

Meanwhile other people as of yet have inexplicably not yet produced even a text blog. All you need for that is access to a computer for about five minutes and, in addition, an email address. Please make sure you've blogged at least one entry before the next session. Some students are blogging more or less daily. Since you are reading the papers daily for this module (and also for news) it is surely not a diffcult matter to blog or Vblog for half an hour or something, since you have plenty of time allocated for this.

There's a good selection of first year blogs on political theory. Meanwhile it seems that my email (Chris Horrie) was not working today (Thursday). It is working again now I think. So please re-send anything you sent yesterday (eg blog URLs).
